For back injuries, the usual course includes spinal adjustments. A series of office visits will be scheduled to administer them. You may have a mild exercise routine designed specifically for you. Massage and hot or cold compresses may also be used.

Each person will note a reduction of pain over time. Factors such as age, severity of the injury and general health determine how quickly. The goals are to bring it down to a tolerable level and prepare the client to return to work and a good quality of life.
